# 3D Model API

> Turn one image into a textured, downloadable 3D model (GLB, FBX, USDZ or STL) with Tripo H3.1 or Meshy 7.1, through the BudgetPixel API.

**Image → 3D model.** Turn one picture into a textured 3D model you can download. Each
model has its own endpoint, `POST /v1/3d/{model}`.

## Models

2 models. Each name opens its API reference with every parameter.

| Model | Maker | What it does |
| - | - | - |
| [Tripo H3.1](/api-reference/3d-models/generate-a-3d-model-with-tripo-h31)<br />`tripo-h3.1` | Tripo | A textured GLB with PBR materials, the most faithful to the picture, flat cartoons included. |
| [Meshy 7.1](/api-reference/3d-models/generate-a-3d-model-with-meshy-71)<br />`meshy-7.1` | Meshy | A light textured model (\~30K triangles) in GLB, FBX, USDZ and STL, optionally rigged and animated for humanoid characters. |

[3D models](/concepts/models#3d-models) explains each model's options, and the
[quickstart](/quickstart#generating-a-3d-model) walks through one request.

## How a request works

1. Send `POST /v1/3d/{model}` with an `image`. The response returns a job `id` right away.
2. Poll [`GET /v1/3d/{job_id}`](/api-reference/3d-models/get-3d-model-job-status) every 15
to 30 seconds until `status` is `succeeded`; a model takes 2 to 5 minutes. The response
   then holds the download links.

Download the files promptly: they're deleted after about 24 hours.

## Pricing

Each model has a base price, and options such as detailed textures or rigging add to it.
[`GET /v1/models?type=3d`](/api-reference/models/list-available-models) returns current
prices, and [`POST /v1/cost`](/api-reference/models/estimate-the-cost-of-a-request) quotes
a request before you send it. You pay only for jobs that succeed; see
[Pricing & credits](/concepts/pricing-and-credits).
